There were several bugs. They've been squashed. The main symptom was anisotropy. Particles favoring axis-aligned movement or preferring +X to -X. Claude found them, given my qualitative reports. I even thought the final fix sounded like a reach, but it worked beautifully
from the expedition record — not yet hung in a room
